Job Description
The University of Mount Saint Vincent is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and visionary Executive Director for its Center for Leadership. This role involves overseeing all operations, planning, and program development for the Center. The ideal candidate is a passionate leader dedicated to fostering leadership skills and promoting the Center's mission to create meaningful and impactful engagement within the University and beyond.This position reports to the Dean of the Undergraduate College.

Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to promote the Center's mission and vision. Create and implement comprehensive plans, with measurable metrics for success, to achieve goals and objectives set by the Advisory Council and Senior Leadership of the University.
- Program Development: Design and oversee leadership programs, workshops, and events that enhance students' leadership skills and engagement.
- Team Building: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of staff and volunteer mentors. Provide guidance and coaching to ensure effective program delivery.
- Partnerships and Collaboration: Forge and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with a strong focus on industry leaders and community organizations. Collaborate with faculty, alumni, community leaders, and industry professionals to create opportunities for students and the Center. Establish metrics for partnership success, such as the number of partnerships formed, the quality and impact of collaborations, and student engagement levels. Expected outcomes from partnerships include:
- Increased Internship and Job Placement Opportunities: Aim for a 20% increase in student internships and job placements within the first year.
- Enhanced Program Offerings: Introduce at least three new leadership programs or workshops annually, leveraging industry and community expertise.
- Strengthened Community Ties: Establish at least five new partnerships with industry leaders and community organizations each year, resulting in collaborative projects and events.
- Student Engagement: Achieve a 25% increase in student participation in leadership programs and events within the first two years.
- Fundraising and Resource Management: In partnership with the Office of Advancement and External Relations, engaging in fundraising efforts and managing the Center's budget. Identify potential sources of funding and develop grant proposals.
- Public Relations: Act as the public face of the Center, representing it at events, conferences, and in the media. Strengthen the Center's profile through effective and professional communication and outreach.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives. Prepare reports for the Advisory Council and other stakeholders.
- Oversight of Career Education and Internships: Successfully oversee the Director for Career Education and Internships, ensuring alignment with the Center's goals and enhancing career development opportunities for students.
- Collaboration with Academic Departments: Work closely with academic departments to identify and engage industry leaders across a broad array of professions. - Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within an educational or nonprofit organization.
- Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on industry leaders and community organizations.
- Experience in fundraising and resource management.
- Passion for leadership development and student engagement.
- Master's degree in leadership or a related field required.
