Overview:

This position will assist in recruitment processes, maintain employee records, ensure compliance with labor laws, and help foster a positive workplace culture. The HR Assistant will be a key point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the recruitment process by scheduling interviews, coordinating communication with candidates, and performing reference checks.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, conducting background checks, and organizing orientation sessions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR databases, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws and company policies.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs and enrollment.
  • Assist with multi-state payroll processing, ensuring accurate timekeeping and adherence to payroll deadlines.
  • Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and other HR matters.
  • Help organize and coordinate HR-related events such as training sessions, meetings, and employee engagement activities.
  • Manage HR-related documentation and correspondence, including letters, memos, and emails.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including drafting correspondence, managing calendars, and processing mail.
  • Process employee requests regarding HR policies, benefits, and compensation, directing inquiries to appropriate staff when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and employee benefits administration.

The total annual compensation for this position is $45,000 - $55,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
