As a Technology Summer Team Member, you will play a vital role working alongside one of our many Technology Teams. In this role, you’ll utilize your skillset to help develop and enhance our in-house, industry-leading technology. Our technology allows our clients to succeed with industry-first applications, tools and support.

You’ll also work on a summer-long project where you’ll collaborate alongside students with backgrounds & passions in software development, databases and infrastructures, cybersecurity, project management, and more!

This team is responsible for managing and maintaining the enterprise technology and infrastructure systems, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and scalability to support the organization's daily operations and long-term objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Manage and maintain virtual server environments, databases, and cloud services, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor systems uptime and performance, taking proactive measures to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure hardware, software, and databases based on established procedures and best practices.
  • Create, maintain, and update documentation for design, operation, procedures, and subscription runbooks.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with business customers, technical teams, and management to resolve issues and provide status updates.
  • Design, implement, and monitor cloud services, including Azure Web Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service, Google Cloud, and Virtual Machines, using automation to deploy and manage resources.
  • Actively acquire a working understanding of IT architecture, infrastructure standards, database platforms, and data management philosophies, and demonstrate applying them to existing and future architectures.
  • Participate in cohort project with other Summer Team Members, developing and designing team specific tasks, executing project work, and delivering progress presentations.
  • Participate in project focused Scrum rituals (standup, refinement, planning, retrospective).

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2025 or 2026 (current junior/senior status).
  • The ability to work Monday thru Friday, 40-hours a week, fully on-site in Pontiac, MI from the end of May to mid-August.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to both thrive in a team environment and effectively work independently to complete assignments on time.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to receive and apply feedback.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills while being comfortable in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate adaptability and forward thinking in the face of technological or organizational change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex technical issues and solutions in a clear, simple, and understandable way.
  • Foundational knowledge in administering and maintaining Windows Server 2008+, Office 365, SQL Server 2014 or above, and SCCM software deployment and imaging.
  • Foundational knowledge in managing and supporting cloud technologies, such as GCP and Azure, including Azure AD and Azure AD Connect, as well as experience with virtual networks and related components.
  • Foundational knowledge in database administration, including SQL Server high availability technologies, SSIS, ETL application support, and automation tools like Redgate and Powershell.
  • Demonstrated understanding of handling multiple database instances, mission-critical transactional and decision support databases, and SQL Server availability groups.

Nice to have:

  • Work examples of prior projects or experience related to this role.
  • Prior experience performing activities related to relevant IT roles, such as: Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, Data Platform Administrator, Cloud Administrator.
