Daycare Helper
Daycare Helper (Part or Full Time) | North Charleston
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Daycare Helper to join our team. As a Daycare Helper, you will play a vital role in assisting teachers in the classroom and/or shuttling children to/from school.
Pay rate of $16.25- $17.50 per hour, based on experience.
About The Sunshine House:The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy is a nurturing and inclusive daycare center dedicated to providing a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 6 months to 12 years. We believe in fostering creativity, social development, and early learning through play-based activities.
Positions Available at:
- Sunshine House of Charleston, 8180 Dorchester Road
Assistant Teacher Duties:
- Assists the teacher in supervising children to ensure safety.
- Builds relationships with the children through active play.
- Light classroom cleaning duties.
Transporting Duties:
- Safely transport children to and from the daycare center in a daycare-provided vehicle.
- Ensure that all children are securely fastened in their seats and follow all traffic safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized vehicle, conducting regular safety checks.
- Greet children and parents warmly, creating a positive start and end to their day.
- Collaborate with daycare staff to ensure a smooth transition between the vehicle and the daycare facility.
- At Least 21 years old for drivers
- Proof of High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 30 days of experience working at a licensed childcare center required.
- Clean driving record in the last 3 years.

- Pay rate is determined by education and experience. Employees with a high school diploma and limited experience will be paid at the lower scale rate. Employees with at least ECD 101 to Associates will be paid mid-scale and applicants with a BA or higher and experience will be paid at the high end of the scale.
