Mechanical Engineer
Seeking an R&D Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our clients innovative team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you will design and develop cutting-edge medical devices, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to both pre-clinical and clinical testing.
You will be responsible for optimizing designs, managing the transition from concept to full production, and securing intellectual property. If you have 5+ years of engineering experience, including in the medical device industry, we encourage you to apply!

responsibilities:
- Creating innovative designs for products, machines, tools, fixtures, and test methods.
- Improving designs for both initial implementation and long-term scalability.
- Working with other engineers, skilled technicians, and cross-functional teams, including quality, medical affairs, and manufacturing.
- Building and testing design prototypes, refining designs based on test results, and participating in both in vitro and in vivo testing.
- Documenting design processes and conducting tests to meet verification and validation standards.
- Managing the transition of designs from concept to pilot and eventually to full production.
- Providing guidance and motivation to junior team members and colleagues.
- Collaborating with patent attorneys to secure intellectual property for new innovations.
- Applying process engineering principles to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Ensuring all work complies with federal, state, local, and company regulations, particularly regarding health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Actively participating in identifying and resolving engineering challenges using sound engineering principles.
- Communicating effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including physicians and cross-disciplinary teams.
- Contributing to the development and testing of products in clinical or pre-clinical settings.
