Mechanical Engineering Intern position at Keysight in the PMTC organization offers a variety of opportunities including basic engineering tasks related to process design, tooling and fixture design, experimentation, testing and analysis.

Opportunities can vary from performing analysis on existing product or processes or assisting in the design and development of future hardware and processes. Additional tasks may include supporting production operations for improvement of processes such as CNC milling, CNC turning, Coating, Forming and Stamping among others with a goal of increased thru-put, improved quality, cost reduction and safety enhancements.

The specific project or task will be determined once the candidate has been selected for the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigating the latest precision machining/manufacturing technologies
  • Process design depending on project assigned
  • Providing DFM inputs on new part designs
  • Fixture designs
  • Develop, troubleshoot and document processes
  • Address quality issues
  • Root cause analysis
  • Documentation creation and updates
  • Leads assigned projects requiring coordination with other functions, suppliers
  • Solves a broad range of problems varying in scope and complexity
  • Maintains a clean and professional office and work area environment
  • Maintains high standard professionalism in attitudes and communication with fellow employees and customers

Qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering studies from an accredited college/university
  • Provide an unofficial transcript showing completed course work
  • Strong basic engineering skills with working knowledge of process engineering
  • Anticipate problems and adjusts accordingly
  • Strong foundation of engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to generate new ideas
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Can make timely, effective decisions consistent with business plans and departmental goals
  • Organizes work effectively and uses available resources
  • Working knowledge of GD&T is desired
  • Print Reading and interpretation is desired
  • Working knowledge of CAD software such as NX or other systems desired
  • Manufacturing process knowledge in CNC machining, CNC turning, forming, coating, Wire EDM is desired
  • Hands on shop experience is highly desired

Pay Range: $45-60/hour

The level of this role will be based on applicable experience, education, and skills; most offers will be be between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range listed.

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
