The engineering evaluations performed will be used by the centralized test facility to provide reasonable assurance that these parts and materials will perform their required functions.
Location: Riviera Beach, Fl. 33407Onsite Only - Nuclear but will not need Nuclear Clearance: no per diem. 3-month contract assignment.(W-2)
This position performs engineering/analytical tasks and develops reliable, cost-effective procurement engineering packages that establish proper technical and quality requirements. The engineer will select critical characteristic attributes for testing that once verified will provide reasonable assurance the item will perform its required function upon installation.
The engineer will be responsible for knowing and maintaining design and licensing basis, utilizing the correct design information from changes, procedures, tests and engineering documents in procurement engineering evaluations. The engineer will utilize proper codes and standards in their procurement evaluations, understand and maintain design margin and exercise sound engineering judgment and involve appropriate level of analysis and management review when necessary.The engineer will be accountable for the cost, timeliness, and quality of engineering products in support of material demands.
This position performs procurement engineering responsibilities:- Establishes procurement methodology including developing Commercial Grade Dedication criteria.
- Establishes reverse engineering requirements and provides a plan or methodology to collect measurements, conduct inspections and analysis for a variety of materials and components.
- Establishes procurement engineering documents which result in accurate technical and quality information supporting proper procurement and cost savings where appropriate.
- Establishes material safety classifications and quality levels by researching design and regulatory documents.

- Maintains plant configuration utilizing or initiating appropriate change document (item • equivalency or design change).
- Provides consistency in application and standardization for procurement engineering evaluations/reviews including commercial grade dedications, material analysis, and

- Support the mechanical engineering team in conducting mechanical tests, including component level and material testing.
- Assist in the design and implementation of test plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, recommend effective solutions, and document findings.
- Participate in test result analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements or modifications.
- Document test procedures, specifications, and analysis reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in mechanical testing methodologies and equipment.
- Support the corrective action program.
- Must have dedication of complex items experience.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required. PE preferred, may substitute for BS degree. Minimum of eight (8) years engineering or related experience or minimum of one (1) year as an Engineer I required.
Requires a demonstration of proficiency in automated purchasing and materials management computer systems. Prior attendance at the EPRI Nuclear Utility Procurement Training is a plus. Direct experience in the mechanical discipline is preferred.
Cross-discipline experience (Seismic, Civil/ Structural, Equipment Qualification, Projects Engineering) is a plus.
