Accounting Specialist - Baltimore

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity in the non-profit sector. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing donor information, verifying donation compliance, and processing payments.

• Manage and update donor information in the database
• Verify that all donations comply with IRS regulations
• Process and apply gifts in a timely and accurate manner
• Use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT to manage donor communication and donor database
• Conduct regular auditing to ensure accuracy of all financial data
• Utilize Excel formulas for efficient data management and reporting
• Receive and handle donation requests professionally
• Communicate effectively with donors to maintain strong relationships
• Ensure all gift processing aligns with the organization's policies and procedures. • Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Auditing is required
• Experience in Donor Communication is necessary
• Familiarity with Donor Management and Donor Database is essential
• Knowledge of Gift Processing is a must
• Proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is required
• Expertise in Excel Formulas is necessary
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
