Systems Architect - Falls Church

Overview:

FedWriters is building a team to develop and maintain AI-enhanced search capabilities across the DoD's CDAO Search Portfolio, including GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and the new YETI semantic search API. As As Systems Architect, you will design and optimize AI-enabled search architectures capable of handling complex queries across large datasets on the Advana platform.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Must be within 50-mile radius of Washington DC metro area (Falls Church, Pentagon, Alexandria, Arlington).

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and assess software development requirements for optimal solutions
• Translate technical requirements into architectures for complex search capabilities
• Support hybrid teams of analysts, engineers, and developers
• Work with data scientists and UX designers to create scalable solutions
• Optimize software designs for performance targets
• Profile execution and capture performance metrics

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree + 5-7 years experience OR Master's degree + 3 years experience
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Significant experience in Python/R and big data programming (Python, Scala, or Java)
• Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and related indexing technologies
• Understanding of RDBMS concepts and cloud-based RDBMS services
• AI/ML model development, containerization, and productization experience
• Experience with LLMs and NLP in containerized and Apache Spark environments
• Knowledge Graph and Neo4J experience
• Experience with GovCloud environments (AWS, C2S, SC2S)
• Experience with cyber security compliance and ATO processes
