**Position Summary**
Routine law enforcement and emergency response work including campus surveillance, traffic control, securing buildings and accident and criminal investigation on all college campuses as assigned, and responding to any man-made or natural disasters.
**Salary:**Appropriate placement on salary schedule E2, Grade 3: $45,220 - $62,710
**Hours per week:**40 hours per week. Shift will vary.Adjustments to the scheduled work hours may be made by the appropriate administrator.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
Maintain campus surveillance by foot and vehicular patrol.
Issue citations for traffic and parking violations and direct incoming and outgoing traffic.
Monitor severe weather, check for leaks, fires and safety hazards.
Lock and/or unlock campus buildings exterior doors as required. Ensure office and lab doors along with other restricted access areas are secure.
Investigate accidents, criminal activity and/or suspicious incidents; complete and file appropriate reports as required by State of Alabama statue.
Enforce Alabama State Laws, make arrests and prepare case reports for presentation to magistrate, district attorney, and grand jury.
Defend members of the campus community by confronting potentially violent and armed individuals.
Assist federal, state and local law enforcement agencies as needed.
Assist students, faculty, and visitors with vehicular problems, assist visitors in locating buildings.
Assist with fire evacuation, active shooter, lock down drills, and crime prevention efforts.
Answer telephone; monitor radio; deliver messages.
Make mail deliveries and/or deliver bank deposits.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to ensure appropriate shift coverage.
Ability to work any campus deemed necessary to provide an adequate law enforcement presence.
Serve on college and/or other professional committees as needed.
