Snowmaking Assistant Manager

Overview:

As the Snowmaking Assistant Manager, you will oversee all day-to-day aspects of the snowmaking department and ensure daily goals and objectives are being met safely and efficiently.

Schedule Availability: 6:30AM - 7PM (Day) or 6:30PM - 7AM (Grave). Summer: 6AM – 4PM or 7AM – 5PM. Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays. Overtime Required. Hours are weather dependent.

Responsibilities:

  • All responsibilities of a Snowmaking Supervisor.
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain all aspects of the snowmaking system alongside the Snowmaking Manager.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all year-round snowmaking, in conjunction with the Snowmaking Manager
  • Plan department work schedules in conjunction with the Snowmaking Manager
  • Ensure effective communication between shifts, team leadership, and other Mountain Operations departments
  • Assist Snowmaking Manager in handling snowmaking personnel and related paperwork according to resort guidelines for hiring, employee evaluations, disciplinary procedures, and setting of schedules for the snowmaking department
  • Stay positive, focused, and constructive when faced with setbacks, challenges, and while working in an ever-changing environment
  • Produce high employee morale, motivation and guest satisfaction in an atmosphere of continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the end of season and yearly performance reviews of all snowmaking personnel
  • Act in place of the Snowmaking Manager when required

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of snowmaking experience
  • Strong communication, leadership and team building skills, skiing/riding ability, must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (winter/summer)
  • Valid Driver's license with no restrictions
  • Able to handle and manage confidential information
  • General knowledge of the ski industry and lift operations
  • Positive, solutions-oriented leadership
  • Flexible with hours and days of work
Compensation & Benefits
