Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in network administration and engineering, with a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and security best practices.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:

  • Design, configure, and implement LAN/WAN/WLAN solutions.
  • Install and configure network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams and documentation.

Network Maintenance and Monitoring:

  • Monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
  • Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance problems.
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring tools.

Network Security:

  • Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Perform security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Respond to security incidents.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff.
  • Resolve network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure network alignment with business needs.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on network-related issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in network administration and engineering.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.), and technologies.
  • Experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or HP.
  • Experience with firewall management and VPN configuration.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are highly desired.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
  • Experience with VoIP and other network-based communication technologies.
  • Experience with wireless networking.
