Special Education Teacher (SPED)
The Stepping Stones Group is seeking Special Education Teachers to join our team in Byron, IL!
Job Details:Full-Time: 35 hours per week
Age Group: Elementary (Life Skills Classroom)
Caseload: 7-10 students (Students have severe cognitive disabilities: full scale IQ of 55 and under)
Utilize specialized teaching strategies and tools to enhance learning and engagement for students with diverse learning needs.Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals to promote student success and integration into broader educational settings.
Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
Foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, empathy, and self-confidence among students.
Requirements: Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
Valid state license or certification for Special Education TeachingProfessional Educator License (PEL)
Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs.
