Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Security will be responsible for assisting the Director of Security in directing and overseeing the day to day functions of the security department, including protection of hotel guests, associates and property. This positions reports to the Director of Security.
Responsibilities:
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, professional and service oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni Attendance Standards.
- Schedule Loss Prevention staff according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which included wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
- Comply at all times with Omni SOP and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maintain and communicate key and lock procedures to make sure they are being followed correctly by all associates.
- Supervise Loss Prevention staff.
- Designate and delegate duties.
- Assign shifts.
- Conduct safety and security training for all departments.
- Supervise and conduct investigations for any guest situation involving injury, loss of property and / or damage.
- Perform detailed written investigations on all stolen items.
- Perform detailed written investigations on all associate accidents resulting in medical attention.
- Administer personnel matters including performance appraisals, disciplinary issues, hiring, counseling, etc.
- Assist with associate theft investigations.
- Keep all investigation information confidential at all times.
- Edit payroll for security department and make sure payroll information is turned into accounting by the deadline.
- Keep security office organized including filing, report processing, etc.
- Perform the duties of security officers as needed.
- Perform night manager or MOD duties as needed.
- Conduct basic first aid and CPR training to associates in need of those skills.
- Participate in bi-weekly staff meeting and other meetings.
- Issue payroll checks every two weeks to direct reports.
- Maintains Hotel surveillance systems
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or Equivalent
- Must have 2+ years experience in Loss Prevention/Security Management role.
- Experience in Loss Prevention in an upscale establishment preferred.
- Previous experience in hospitality preferred
- Proven professionalism with guests and associates required
- Experience with and familiarity with OSHA standards required
- Previous experience with training and maintenance of safety standards
- Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
