Human Resources Generalist

A healthcare-focused organization in Solana Beach, CA is looking for an experienced HR Generalist with a special emphasis on administering FMLA/LOA procedures. This role will ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal leave policies while also supporting the HR department in other generalist activities.

Key Responsibilities:

FMLA/LOA Administration:

• Administer FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and other leave-of-absence policies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for employees with leave-related questions or concerns.
• Manage documentation and communication across all stages of the leave process, including approvals, extensions, and returns.

General HR Support:

• Support day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, and onboarding.
• Conduct investigations related to employee complaints, ensuring appropriate action is taken per company policy.
• Partner with managers on employee development and training initiatives.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Update and maintain records in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations (e.g., EEO, FLSA).
• Create and analyze reports for HR metrics related to leave trends, employee engagement, and compliance.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 3-5 years of HR experience, specifically focused on FMLA/LOA administration.
• Certifications such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR are a plus.
• Proficiency with human resources systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar HRIS platforms).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
