Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Engineer III to join our dynamic Transportation team. This role is pivotal in designing and delivering innovative transportation infrastructure solutions. As a key team member, you will collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop projects that enhance mobility and safety.

This position provides the opportunity to contribute to impactful transportation projects and demonstrate technical expertise in design and engineering.

  • Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects using advanced engineering software (e.g., MicroStation and OpenRoads), including highways, bridges, and urban roadways.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, soil reports, survey data, and aerial photographs to inform project planning and design.
  • Prepare design computations, specifications, and construction cost estimates for transportation projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, sub-consultants, and project stakeholders, occasionally presenting project updates in meetings that may require travel or overnight stays.
  • Lead the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, environmental impact studies, permits, and designs.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks in alignment with project guidelines and team objectives.
  • Manage or supervise the work of designers and junior engineers, ensuring alignment with project goals and schedules.
  • Independently execute engineering assignments involving design, analysis, and review of transportation systems and structures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 2–6 years of experience in transportation design or engineering.
  • TxDOT experience (3-5 years) is highly preferred.
  • EIT Certification required.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation required.
  • Experience with OpenRoads preferred.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in transportation engineering, including design codes and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively manage tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
