We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Controller in our Lansing, Michigan location. In this role, you will be responsible for closing gaps in our system and processes, leveraging data for business operations, and managing profit and loss (P& L).
You will be working in a manufacturing environment, where your familiarity with percentage of completion (POC) accounting, Sage 100, and Excel will be vital.
Responsibilities:
- Execute P& L and finalize financials on a regular basis.
- Work closely with the accounting firm for quick reviews.
- Update projects in real-time, ensuring data accuracy.
- Manage month-end close within the stipulated time frame.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Use Crystal Reports for generating detailed reports and data analysis.
- Handle cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
- Develop and implement department standard operating procedures (SOP's).
- Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain deviations in financial performance.
- Assist in payroll calculation and ensure data accuracy.
- Help in the preparation of income statements, ensuring they accurately represent the company's financial status. • Proficiency in Cash Flow Forecasts
- Familiarity with Department SOP's
- Expertise in Profit and Loss analysis
- Ability to prepare and interpret Income Statements
- Experience with Month End Close procedures
- Understanding of percentage (%) of completion accounting method
- Knowledge of Sage 100 software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to perform Variance Analysis
- Skills to Analyze Financial Statements
- Experience in Financial Statement Preparation
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports software
- Experience in handling Payroll
