Accounting Manager
What we are looking for:
SCS Engineers is looking for an Accounting Manager who will oversee many of the daily operations within the accounting department, including supervising staff, ensuring accurate financial records and reports, and overseeing the various closing processes that occur each month.This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices. You should have ample experience in a supervisory or managerial role, be an excellent communicator and comfortable mentoring and guiding staff professionals.
You can be hybrid (2 days/week minimum in the office) or full-time in office in the Long Beach Headquarters.
How you can make an impact:
- Manage and lead a team within the accounting department, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Evaluate and implement effective accounting policies and procedures to improve internal controls and streamline processes.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper classification and accurate recording of transactions.
- Use online banking to process electronic payments, run reports, and approve staff changes
- Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends and anomalies, and providing insightful recommendations to management.
- Review and approve the posting of all transaction files within the ERP system in communication with office managers and staff
- Support Controller/Assistant Controller with the company’s annual financial statement audit and tax compliance filings.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Assist in the hiring and training of accounting staff, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Accounting Manager role required.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint accounting software preferred.
Pay Range: USD $100,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
