National Sales Manager | East Coast

Overview:

SUMMARY: The National Sales Manager is responsible for helping to lead sales efforts by assisting to Director, National Event Sales & Programs in the closing of large event sales and the development of new opportunities across the country. Must be located on the East Coast.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase event revenue to meet goals through securing new events and upselling to existing clients. Ensure that revenue goals are met or exceeded.
  • Identify and pursue new national account opportunities through networking, cold calls, prospecting, and follow-up activities. Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients for future events.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers at national accounts. Ensure a high level of satisfaction with existing and new clients to foster repeat business.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a national event sales strategy. Set monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets to meet company revenue goals.
  • Lead the sales process for securing and managing national events. Oversee event details, including contracts, negotiations, pricing, and ensuring alignment with the client’s needs and expectations.
  • Attend and represent the company at key trade shows, conferences, and industry events to stay informed of market trends, foster relationships, and generate leads. Identify opportunities for event sponsorships and collaborations.
  • Actively participate in industry memberships, associations, and organizations. Utilize these memberships to build credibility, stay current on industry trends, and develop new business connections.
  • Conduct research to identify emerging trends and potential opportunities within the national events and travel industries. Provide feedback and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic planning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and performance. Prepare regular reports on sales performance, opportunities, and progress towards targets. Provide sales forecasts and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and customer service, to ensure smooth event execution and exceed client expectations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel regularly to meet potential clients, attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events. Actively engage in face-to-face networking to develop new business leads.

QUALIFICATIONS: The National Sales Manager possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals (customers, vendors, and associates), solid communication skills, strong critical and analytical thinking skills, and appreciation of diversity (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.).

The National Sales Manager must be a strong team player and possess a high level of profit and loss capability, sales and marketing skills and abilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event sales, national account management, or a similar field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (to sell the experience, you have to be able to communicate it—effectively).
  • Proven track record of securing new national accounts, achieving sales targets, and growing business in a competitive environment.
  • Experience attending trade shows, conferences, and industry events, with a strong network in the events and travel industry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is hybrid.

The pay range for this position is $80,000 base plus commission
