Robert Half - Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in LAKE ORION, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks including processing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, managing general ledger, making journal entries, and handling month-end close procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Work on accounts payable and receivable operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Perform bank reconciliations regularly to maintain accurate financial records
• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are up-to-date and accurate
• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the accounting process
• Assist in the month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reported
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions as needed
• Resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts and transactions
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and monitor credit applications
• Ensure all customer applications are processed accurately and efficiently
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department by performing other related duties as assigned • Possess strong knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficient in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Well-versed in managing and maintaining the General Ledger
• Able to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately
• Experienced in conducting Month End Close procedures
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• CPA certification is a plus but not required.
