Water Resources Project Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION
Join VHB’s expanding Water Resources teamas a Water Resources Engineer/Designer and make a significant impact! We’re seeking a skilled professional to collaborate with our expert team on cutting-edge projects in stormwater management, hydrology and hydraulics analysis, culvert and bridge design, and resiliency efforts.You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions that drive sustainable development in water resources, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental projects. Responsibilities- Lead tasks under the supervision of the project manager on multi-disciplinary projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, stormwater design or water quality focus including interaction with staff and clients
- Prepare and review stormwater management and natural system design drawings and specifications
- Prepare technical reports, plans and specifications
- Develop project proposals, scopes of work and fee estimates
- Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
- Mentor junior staff in both technical and professional aspects
- Responsible for project task management including task financial performance
- BS in Civil/Environmental/Water Resources engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years of professional water resources engineering and analysis experience
- Experience preparing design plans & specifications, and preparing technical reports
- Experience with task management and people management/mentoring
- Experience with hydrologic/ hydraulic modeling and stormwater policy and permitting preferred
- EIT/PE licensure preferred
- Proficiency with relevant software including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, StormCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel
