Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is in search of a Staff Accountant to become a part of our team in the Agriculture industry located in Visalia, California. As a Staff Accountant, you will be primarily tasked with responsibilities such as supporting the accounting system, managing cash and debt, preparing financial and inventory reports, and maintaining property tax and insurance records.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the enhancement and continuous maintenance of accounting systems
• Handle cash and debt management, ensuring accurate and efficient procedures
• Prepare various financial, production, and inventory reports and disseminate them appropriately
• Maintain accurate records of property tax and file returns in a timely manner
• Record monthly journal entries and conduct month-end close procedures
• Maintain insurance records and related accounting and reporting
• Review expenditures for appropriate coding, approvals, timeliness, etc.
• Support the Accounting Manager in carrying out responsibilities of the position
• Cross-train with other staff members to ensure complete cross-position functionality
• Undertake other tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Must possess at least 1 year of work experience in the field of Accounting.
• Proficiency in key accounting tasks such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close is required.
• A strong understanding of the agricultural industry is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is a plus but not mandatory.
• Must have a strong ethical standard and integrity.
