Upper School Associate Dean (part time)
Kennedy International School provides a bilingual, well-rounded education for its students from nursery through 12th grade. This is a part time non-exempt position starting in summer 2025. This role reports into the Upper School Director.
The work hours are Monday through Friday from 12-5pm daily, at 25 hours per week.
This role is essential in creating an environment where students can thrive both academically and socially, ensuring their success and well-being within the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the authority of the school principal, the Upper School Associate Dean plays a key role in fostering a positive and structured educational environment. The Associate Dean oversees student life, ensures discipline, supports student development, and contributes to the overall educational and citizenship goals of the institution.
- Educational Policy Implementation
- Contribute to the school's educational policy and implement student engagement initiatives.
- Promote citizenship, autonomy, and social integration among students.
- Participate in school governance, disciplinary committees, and student councils.
- Collaborate with external partners, local authorities, and associations for educational projects.
- Student Support & Guidance
- Work with educational staff to address behavioral and learning difficulties.
- Assist in preventing absenteeism, dropout risks, and psychosocial challenges.
- Maintain constructive communication with families regarding student development.
- School Life Organization & Climate Management
- Supervise and coordinate monitors.
- Manage student spaces, movement, attendance, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the enforcement of the school’s internal regulations and promote a safe, inclusive environment.
- Implement conflict resolution and mediation strategies to foster a positive school climate.
- Contribute to initiatives against discrimination, violence, and harassment.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead the monitoring team, assigning responsibilities and ensuring continuity of service.
- Identify training needs for monitors and recommend professional development opportunities.
- Support the school’s broader educational mission by coordinating activities that enhance student engagement and well-being.
- Fluency in French and English are required
- Strong understanding of educational policies, student development, and behavioral management.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in student engagement, extracurricular activities, and pastoral care.

Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $40.00 per hour. At 25 hours per week, this role is eligible for benefits including medical insurance (80% covered by employer), dental, vision, Flexible Savings Account (FSA), and 401K retirement plan.
