Duties and responsibilities: Provides IT system administration services as follows: Prior experience performing system administrator tasks with such as installation, maintenance, and support of multi-platform technology, client/server infrastructure on Windows and Linux environments.
Perform scheduled maintenance on Windows and Linux servers such as install firmware updates, security patches, hotfixes and hardware upgrades. Must have strong logic skills and ability to understand and trouble-shoot technology issues, including networking and server configurations.
Responsible for installing and maintaining Nessus Professional. Generate vulnerability scans for Windows and Netapp Devices Experience installing and configuring Splunk, managing forwarders and addons on Windows and Linux Servers Support creation management, and support for the Atlassian product suite including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
Support Atlassian workflows, project workflows, field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes. Analyze system vulnerabilities using Tenable scans and STIG Viewer. Remediate high and critical vulnerabilities.
Install and configure centralized Symantec Endpoint Protection Server. Manage systems through the Management console, ensure systems are up to date with latest virus definitions, troubleshoot any antivirus related issues. Install and configure centralized Acronis Backup Server.
Monitor and validate system backups. Troubleshoot, create/Modify Jobs and perform system restores as needed. Setup and configure the File/Printer server as well as troubleshoot scanning and printing issues. Create, Test, Apply, and Troubleshoot Group Policy Objects Experience with Domain Controller.
Perform and set up Disaster Recovery plan and documentation. Address user management issues and ensure access controls are sufficient to protect sensitive data. Support outages as directed by the government. Provide appropriate training and documentation upon the Government's request.
