Staff Accountant

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team operating in the non-profit industry in St. Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will be executing various accounting operations to enhance efficiency and maintain robust internal accounting controls in our department.

• Implement accounting functions to enhance efficiency and robust internal accounting controls within the department.
• Prepare accounts receivable invoices and enter cash receipts for various entities into the accounting system while maintaining related files.
• Enter employee expense reports into the accounting system and provide support for accounts payable processing.
• Provide accounting support for various operations and prepare budget data for upload into the accounting system.
• Prepare internal financial statements, tax returns, and assist with other tax-related projects as needed.
• Prepare budget and audit workpapers and other accounting spreadsheets as assigned.
• Conduct account analysis and perform miscellaneous accounting functions to enhance efficiency in the department.
• Prepare time summaries, accounting reports, and projects, and manage and assist with various projects as needed.
• Run, reconcile, and post monthly cost center and management reports for budget managers and accounting staff.
• Perform other accounting support duties as requested.
• Possess strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficient in Bank Reconciliations
• Experience with General Ledger management
• Ability to create accurate Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close processes
• Able to prepare Financial Statements
• Familiarity with non-profit sector is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in computer software for accounting, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
