Job Description
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies related to maintenance activities.
  • Direct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to mitigate hazards and promote a safe work environment.
  • Construct and execute maintenance plans, schedules, and strategies to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across the facility.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Work jointly with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics and implement measures to improve reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve equipment-related issues promptly.
  • Develop and manage repair & maintenance (R&M) budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenditures in conjunction with operational departments, finance & controlling.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support maintenance operations effectively.
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, supervisors, and contractors, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance team capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, equipment history, and inventory.
  • Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance, key metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the finance and engineering teams to support CAPEX projects related to equipment upgrades, replacements, and installations.
  • Provide input on equipment specifications, vendor selection, cost estimation, and project timelines.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of planned turnaround activities, including scope definition, resource allocation, and scheduling to ensure timely and efficient turnaround execution.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies for spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies in coordination with operational departments and procurement.
  • Optimize inventory levels, procurement processes, and stock replenishment to support maintenance operations
  • Ability and willingness to travel

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in maintenance management or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in the metals industry or related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, reliability-centered maintenance, and asset management principles.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP), ERP software, data analysis tools, and Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Spanish language is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and risk management practices.
