We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the heart of Washington, District of Columbia. In the role of a Staff Accountant, you will be an integral part of our team, focusing on financial accounting and reporting, rent collection and accounts payable, treasury management, and lease and loan administration.

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications
• Maintain precise customer credit records
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions
• Handle tenant inquiries and disputes related to financial matters in collaboration with Community Managers
• Oversee the process of rent collection and ensure timely collection of rent and other property-related income
• Review and analyze lease and loan agreements for financial implications
• Maintain precise tenant ledgers, including rent payments, security deposits, and other charges
• Review balance sheet related Accounts Payable ensuring timely payment of bills and expenses
• Assist in tracking the closing calendar and checklist on a monthly schedule
• Monitor and report daily cash balances and ensure priority expenditures are processed
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in an audit-ready format
• Prepare General Ledger Posting, Recurring, and Reclass Entries
• Prepare appropriate Workpapers and Roll forwards for All Balance Sheet Accounts. • Possess strong expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated proficiency in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations
• Adequate knowledge of General Ledger operations
• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries
• Experience in performing Month End Close activities
• Familiarity with Yardi property management software
