We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our client in Walnut Creek.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Tax and Fixed Assets processes, with an even split of time between each area.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to assess whether system data aligns with tax data or requires adjustments.
• Perform journal entry adjustments in various software systems.
• Conduct extensive data review and cleanup for fixed assets, focusing on automating processes.
• Analyze 2024 data and prepare detailed reports.
• Excel proficiency is essential; skills in X & V look-ups, Sum IFS, and other advanced Excel functions are needed.
• Handle tax-related tasks including accurate filings and journal entries for income tax, expatriate tax, and F/A taxes.
• Participate in month-end reconciliations of income tax accounts.
• Prepare and ensure compliance with tax filings and maintain proper booking.
• Assist in correspondence with government agencies regarding tax matters.
• Knowledge of general ledger, debit/credit systems, and financial analysis.
• Strong Excel skills for data management and analysis.
• An analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the role.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or relevant certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, planning, and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
