This position reports to

Senior Applications Engineering Lead

Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is onsite in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Creating sales information, labs, manual targeting Ethernet/IP Connectivity and other Fieldbus with ABB Drives and PLC’s.
  • Functional Testing of Industrial Fieldbus protocols
  • Setting up tests and testing in Application Lab.
  • Testing of long motor cables on a VFD and creating test reports.
  • Direct customer interface in the support of ABB Drives with customers and channel partners.
Qualifications for the role
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering, in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress

The hourly rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications, graduation year and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
