Job Description:
The Aircraft Mechanic I-III is responsible for the support of highly sensitive USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, Senior Military Leaders, and visiting Foreign Dignitaries.
These positions are located in the following locations: Langley AFB VA, Nellis AFB NV, and Edwards AFB CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including complex repairs and modifications to aircraft structures, engines, and systems.Maintain and repair critical components such as flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical systems.
Interpret and apply technical data, including blueprints and manufacturer manuals, to solve complex problems and ensure aircraft readiness.
Conduct comprehensive inspections, including preflight, thru-flight, post-flight, and phase inspections.
Launch and recover aircraft as required, performing operational checks on all systems to ensure functionality.
Maintain aircraft appearance and cleanliness to uphold USAF standards.
Operate ground support equipment, hand tools, special tools, and fixtures relevant to aircraft maintenance.
Manage ground movement of aircraft safely and effectively.
Document all maintenance actions in aircraft records and input associated entries into the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
Uphold safety standards, including good housekeeping, tool control, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) awareness and prevention.
Participate in Cross Utilization Training (CUT) to gain proficiency in aircraft general maintenance, jet engine servicing, and pneudraulics.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as assigned, including temporary duty assignments (TDY) and travel.Be available to work varying shifts, including day, swing, night, and weekend shifts, as operational needs dictate.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical components, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
Expertise in sheet metal/structural modification and repair, with the ability to assess complex electrical system functionality.Strong technical aptitude for interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and repair documentation.
Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license PreferredSecret Clearance is required.
