Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join their team! This role supports a federal client’s mission to accelerate discovery and delivery of identity and network-based intelligence to counter national security threat actors. The ideal candidate will apply their expertise in cloud technologies and intelligence domains to lead and execute complex projects.
- Provide technical expertise in a range of cloud technologies, including cloud development, cloud architecture, cloud system engineering, cloud security, DevSecOps engineering, and Agile development methodologies
- Lead teams on projects of varying complexity, creating solutions that impact financials, scheduling, methodology, and tools while preparing long- and short-range plans for application selection, system development, and procedural improvements
- Act as a liaison between customers and technical teams, translating project requirements into technical specifications
- Manage project stakeholders and serve as the technical point of contact for all cloud engineering-related matters
- Plan, execute, and close projects that meet or exceed customer expectations
- Understand customer requirements and project KPIs
- Implement various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
- Plan team structure, activities, and project management involvement
- Set up tools and required infrastructure
- Define and manage development, testing, release, update, and support processes for DevSecOps
- Review, verify, and validate software code developed in the project
- Troubleshoot techniques and resolve code bugs
- Monitor project adherence throughout its lifecycle, updating or creating new processes for continuous improvement
- Build and encourage automated processes wherever possible
- Identify and deploy security measures through continuous vulnerability assessments and risk management
- Conduct incident management and root cause analysis
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external teams and customers
- Select and deploy appropriate CI/CD tools
- Manage periodic progress reporting for management and customers
- Experience working on Linux/Windows-based infrastructure
- Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, and similar technologies
- Experience configuring and managing databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational/NoSQL databases
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins
- Advanced experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of critical concepts in DevSecOps and Agile methodologies
- None
- A CompTIA Security+ certification
- AWS Certified Developer Associate or Solution Architect (or similar certification in Azure or GCP)
- Certification or coursework in CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins
- ITIL Certification is a plus
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
