Senior staff accountant
Overview:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial information for internal and external use, maintaining and ascertaining the integrity of accounting records for the purpose of compiling, reconciling, adjusting and/or reclassifying accounting and operational information.This position is responsible for analyzing assigned balance sheet accounts and maintaining respective account folders. Incumbents in this position are assigned to various departments and are responsible for specialized familiarity with the operations and financial statements of the assigned departments.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Creates an atmosphere that encourages guests to make Hard Rock Bristol their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
- Responsible for Daily Cash Management Activities which include: updating daily bank activity; transferring funds between accounts; paying various expenses; preparing deposits for the bank and maintain all banking functions for operational purposes.
- Prepares Monthly Bank Reconciliations.
- Maintains a Fixed Asset Accounting (FAS) System, the Company’s Chart of Accounts, and adheres to all Virginia Lottery Regulations.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
Four-year degree in accounting. Six (6) or more years of experience in cash management and fixed asset accounting activities.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery.
- Must successfully pass background check.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.
- Must successfully pass drug screening.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Prior experience opening new properties/outlets strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- The Gaming industry, including principles and practices of a capital and operations budget.
- Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Sound interpersonal judgment and decision-making skills.
- Financial systems and proficiency with spreadsheet software.

ABILITY TO:

- Independently initiate, follow up, and complete assignments, as well as special projects.
