Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, Instructional Assistant - Extended Day Programs – Roving Sub implement approved academic and enrichment class activities for Extended Day
Programs; provide a safe and nurturing environment for student achievement; perform a variety of clerical support duties related to classroom activities; collect, maintain, and input attendance data to assigned school program database.
Instructional Assistant - Extended Day Programs –– Roving Sub will be assigned to various sites across a school district, depending on daily needs arising from staff callouts. While assigned to a
home site, they must be ready to travel and cover assignments at different locations as required.
On days without staff callout coverage need, the Instructional Assistant – Roving Sub will report to their home site and provide additional support as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Implement approved academic, enrichment and recreational activities for students; provide homework assistance and instructional support to students.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for student achievement.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials to promote student learning.
- Collect, maintain, and input attendance data into assigned school program database.
- Monitor students in the classroom and computer lab: supervise students during recess and sports activities; guide students into safe play activities.
- Assist students to develop communication skills, enhance character traits and serve as an appropriate language model.
- Coordinate the distribution of snacks to students.
- Perform routine first aid and seek assistance for non-routine illnesses or injuries.
- Prepare, collect, and maintain a variety of records, logs, notes, and files.
- Assist in the collection, preparation and maintenance of screening and assessment data.
- Communicate with school site staff regarding student participation.
- Attend meetings sessions with designated staff to discuss issues or concerns.
- Maintain classroom in as safe, sanitary, and orderly condition.
- Communicate with personnel and parents to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns.
- Inventory and replenish classroom supplies as needed.
- Operate a variety of audio-visual, office, and instructional equipment; including a computer and assigned software.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.

- Nutrition needs for students.

- Provide instructional support.

- To perform playground supervision.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Have two years working with children in an organized setting.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Upon offer you will be expected to secure a valid first aide certificate within 30 days of employment
