Details:

The Regional Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive work environment at Brighton + Suncrest Hospice. This position is responsible for implementing, administering, and leading all aspects of employee relations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and compassionate individual who is adept at building strong relationships, resolving conflicts effectively, and promoting a culture of respect and fairness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders: Collaborate effectively with legal counsel, HR leadership, managers, and employees to support business initiatives, resolve issues, and promote a positive culture.
  • Support Workforce Analysis: Study turnover rates to identify causes of attrition, understand retention trends, and suggest retention strategies.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations: Investigate employee relations concerns, complaints, and disputes, including those related to harassment, discrimination, and other workplace misconduct.
  • Ensure fair and consistent resolution: Advise on appropriate corrective actions, ensuring that all investigations are conducted in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, and our core values of compassion, integrity, and respect.
  • Policy and process improvement: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures related to employee relations, ensuring alignment with best practices and legal requirements.
  • Employee training: Support and deliver training programs to employees and managers on topics such as harassment prevention, conflict resolution, and workplace conduct.
  • Support a positive work environment: Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and fairness for all employees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in employee relations, including investigation and resolution of complex employee issues.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA).
  • Demonstrated experience in successful development and implementation of the employee and labor relations strategies, policies, procedures, and programs that ensure operational alignment and standardization across the organization.
  • Possesses technical knowledge with demonstrated success in assessing organizational/business effectiveness, colleague relations, communication and change management, performance and experience working to achieve results through labor management partnership.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills in order to effectively represent colleague and labor relations, often in highly sensitive situations, and to discuss and resolve related complex issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in hospice or palliative care.
  • PHR/SPHR or other relevant HR certifications.
  • Multi-state experience in Human Resources to include California
