Electrical Engineer Intern
This role offers an opportunity for recent college graduates with an engineering degree to apply their knowledge and skills in a professional setting.
This role has the potential to transition to full time, regular-status employment upon internship completion. Full time, regular status employment requires eligibility to obtain and maintain US government Secret level security clearance.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components for new and ongoing projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications.
- Analyze project requirements, technical specifications, and client needs to determine optimal electrical design solutions.
- Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
- Conduct calculations, simulations, and testing to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical designs.
- Select appropriate components, equipment, and materials based on project requirements and budget constraints.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders, clients, and management.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and regulations in electrical engineering to propose innovative solutions and enhancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories, and methodologies
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and analysis software, including CAD tools and simulation software
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and technical presentations
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance with the requirement of a U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Previous exposure to Energy and Sustainability projects
