Budget and Financial Analyst

Overview:

VTG is seeking a senior financial analyst to support an exciting customer mission in downtown Washington, DC. The successful candidate will join our high-performance team recognized by the customer for their significant contributions over the past 2+ years.

This position will work on-site with other senior financial analysts supporting an organization in the Intelligence Community with an exciting mission critical to our national security. This candidate will support our primary customer though will be deployed to a large mission partner building in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with experience in the Intelligence Community (IC) providing financial analysis and reporting support to senior level customers. The Financial Analyst will work with government officials to advise on all aspects of financial performance to maximize mission value, mitigate financial risk, and meet financial commitments. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and manage financial data using customer systems and Excel.
  • Manage and process financial actions between agencies to enable the close coordination with mission partners.
  • Track expenditure of funds and maintain execution rates.
  • Review annual budgets and create and manage spend plans.
  • Monitor and provide analysis of spending trends, obligation, execution rates, and maintain communication with various Budget and Plans representatives.
  • Assist workforce with guidance on financial processing and policies.
  • Drafting correspondence and briefing materials to communicate financial information to stakeholders.
  • Prepare effective correspondence to justify funding increases and explain programs to various audiences.

Pay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $190,000 – 200,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range

Qualifications:

  • Requirements
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • 12+ years of professional work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience performing budget, finance, or related work.
  • Strong understanding of USG budgeting and execution process.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel including PivotTables.
  • Strong organizational, relationship building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
