Education Coordinator - Nursing, Clinical Services

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shifts

Position Summary:

The Clinical Educator is a registered nurse who demonstrates expertise in the area of clinical education. This role is directed by nursing leadership. The primary focus of the position is to provide organization-wide clinical education to ensure our clinical staff orientations, competency assessments, clinical practice, and overall educational efforts are evidence-based, consistently applied, and are focused on the highest quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other clinical team members in providing clinical practice tools to enhance quality outcomes.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and standards of practice.
  • Identifies needs, plans and implements educational programs across specialty areas for all appropriate clinical staff.
  • Establishes, coordinates, and conducts new clinical staff orientation, assessment, and development programs to ensure ongoing success of all clinical staff in their respective specialty areas of practice.
  • Develops, assesses, and evaluates clinical skills and competencies relevant to clinical specialty.
  • Serves in a consultative role to staff, management and other health care professionals (assessment, identification of problem, plan, and follow-up).
  • Participates with leadership and other disciplines to plan for the establishment and implementation of goals related to clinical practice/area of specialization.
  • Plans and implements programs for continuing staff education and development.
  • Demonstrates clinical practice competency and professional development.
  • Assists with the identification and education of providers and staff related to clinical services, risk management, compliance and privacy issues.
  • Attends meetings as needed and participates on committees as directed to support clinical staff development.
  • Perform other related services as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

Associates Degree in Nursing

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of experience in nursing or a related health field preferred.

Licensure Requirements:

Current TN nursing license. BLS CPR certification, certification as a BLS Instructor preferred.
