Summery/Objective
The billing supervisor will supervise billing and customer service staff for all departments and provide oversight on all billing functions, including follow-up and account resolution. In addition, they will organize and monitor billing functions to promote efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Monitoring A/R for all OnPoint Medical Group practices looking for trends and advising the Billing Manager of such trends.
- Assist billing staff with appealing unpaid and denied claims and resolving billing disputes.
- Working directly with the insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to get claims processed and paid.
- Oversees the preparation of statements and bills.
- Maintains and/or ensures maintenance of client records related to invoicing and bill payment.
- Reviews work of billing staff to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed.
- Creates and provides a prioritized list of clients to be invoiced to team members.
- Drafts and distributes weekly reports of invoicing and billing metrics.
- Advises staff on proper legal parameters for collections practices; ensures that all billing actions comply with company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Provides customer support to customers with disputes or inquiries concerning invoices or billing processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Strong computer skills required
Five years of healthcare experience
Four years of billing supervisory experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Some college – medical, business, and accounting focus
Bilingual
EMR experience preferred – Athenahealth Practice Management System
Certified biller, coder, and/or five years' experience in billing, coding, or high level of insurance knowledge
Supervisor Responsibilities- Exercises general supervision over employees in the billing department, including but not limited to the following:
- Interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.
- Trains and oversees employees involved in billing functions.
- Directs assigned tasks and assists as needed.
- Manages a team of remote workers
- Monitor billing staff time management
- Evaluate staff and provides feedback
- Initiate progressive discipline when necessary
- Assists with performance evaluations.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement
- Attend management training classes as assigned
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
- This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 / annually
