Tennessee Speech-Pathology certification and CCC-SLP required + Master's Degree + authorized to work in the US
Salary and Compensation: This position will work directly with Fayette County, TN school district, and will follow the guidelines for salary and benefits. Specifics will be shared in the hiring process.
Fayette County Public Schools is seeking a virtual Speech Pathologist. This role involves assessing student progress, collaborating with teachers, parents, and community agencies, and tailoring instruction to meet individual student needs. Additionally, the role supports curriculum implementation, directs instructional aides, and participates in meetings to enhance student outcomes.
As a Virtual Speech Pathologist with Fayette County School District, you will:- Assess Student Needs: Conduct virtual evaluations to identify students’ speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ specific needs in collaboration with educators and families.
- Monitor and Document Progress: Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and performance; regularly update parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Collaborate with School Staff: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to support student development and align therapy goals with classroom activities.
- Consult with Parents and Caregivers: Guide families on how to support their child’s speech and language development at home.
- Adhere to Legal and Ethical Guidelines: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., IDEA, HIPAA) and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) code of ethics.
- Utilize Technology Effectively: Set up and manage teletherapy tools and platforms, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure data security during online sessions.
- Engage in Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices, research, and tools for remote speech-language pathology through continued education and training.
- Support Diverse Needs: Adapt therapy techniques to accommodate the student's diverse cultural, linguistic, and developmental backgrounds.
- CCC-SLP (Credential of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Tennessee Speech-Pathology certification
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have a Master's Degree from an accredited college/university.
- Laptop or desktop computer, webcam, headset, and reliable internet access.
- Prior online education experience is a plus!
