FTEP - Staff Accountant - Columbus

This full-time, salaried position provides stability while offering variety, training, and career growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations of accounts (bank, inventory, prepaid, etc.).
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, as well as variance analysis.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger by researching and correcting account discrepancies.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
• Support audits (internal and external) by providing requested documentation and analysis.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth accounting operations and timely reporting.
• Participate in ad hoc projects and tasks assigned during each engagement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience (general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting).
• Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software/systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) is preferred.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to new industries, systems, and processes quickly.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and establish professional relationships.
