Employment

Phoenix Processor LP manages the M/V EXCELLENCE (fish processing ship) that reside at Pier 90 in Seattle when not operating at sea. We are in need of a Cook to work in port for the next 4-6 weeks. This can be a temporary or permanent job as there potentially could be additional work available either working at sea or working in port throughout the year.

At port, we provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is some baking but it does not have to be from scratch. Food is served cafeteria style and there is a galley assistant to help with food service, stocking and cleaning the mess area. During this time in port there will be approximately 20-40 people working and living on board.

Hours are 12 hour days, 6 days per week. You can live on board the ship during the port period. We can accommodate a private room with bath for port work.

Requirements

3+ years cooking experience, preferably in a leadership position. You must be physically fit to work long hours on your feet. You must be able to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis. You must be able to live and work with a diverse group of people.

This is a great opportunity to use your culinary education and cooking experience gained working in a fast paced kitchen, catering company, cafeteria, or on board a vessel.

Professional schooling is preferred but not mandatory.

Benefits

Pay is a daily rate between $250 and $300 based on experience. When working at sea there is an excellent opportunity to earn a production bonus. If you meet our annual hourly work requirements you qualify for health benefits. Life insurance and 401k participation are offered after one year.
