Accounting and Product Support Specialist

Overview:

Role requires communication across multiple levels within the organization and with external parties to research and resolve payment related issues. In addition, Role assists in other critical projects and functions within the Operations Accounting team as needs arise.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare analysis and examine past due balances/credits on vendor statements using financial reporting tools to determine appropriate action for resolution with strong follow through to completion.
• Support month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and timely responses to inquiries with adequate information.
• Initiate and lead discussions with internal purchasing team and vendors to communicate pricing or other product or process issues. Exchange ideas on solutions and take appropriate action to ensure resolution to ensure desirable outcome.
• Identify and investigate unresolved variances or system issues affecting invoice amounts, balances, and activity.
• Support restaurant managers inquiries around distributor ordering, receiving, and invoicing, providing effective resolution or escalations as necessary. Specifically issues around deliveries, order catalog, credits, and invoicing discrepancies.
• Support electronic ordering and payments implementations related to fresh fish, alcohol distributors and alcohol maintenance. Requires effective communication, tracking, and data gathering in an organized fashion with follow ups to completion.
• Manage and update alcohol products in the ordering platform.
• Perform vendor file maintenance updates as requested, ensuring strict compliance with requirements and internal controls. Provide timely feedback on discrepancies.
• Participate in regular meetings, providing status updates on current projects and exchange ideas with team members on best practices.
• Perform testing for new B2B ordering/receiving process implementation & rollouts.
• Assist with other ad hoc projects, alcohol product and systems support, implementations and initiatives as requested by management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent in work experience
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, and other Microsoft applications
• Experience with Oracle and Business Intelligence (or equivalent ERP systems and reporting tools).
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects at a given time.
• Proven experience as a strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Exhibits a sense of urgency, understanding the importance of system and month-end close deadlines.
• Ability to interact professionally with peers/departments, all levels of management and third-party partners.
• Self-starter with strong analytical curiosity, organizational skills and excellent follow through.
• Proven experience with analyzing, prioritizing, and solving problems effectively.
• Experience with various Supply chain platforms a plus.
