Our client for the Demand Planning Manager opportunity is a leading manufacturer and supplier in the automotive, commercial vehicle, off highway markets specializing in the manufacturing solutions that serve OEM and Aftermarket customers globally.

Job Description
  • Demand Planning Process Management:
  • Lead and manage the demand planning process, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer demand patterns.
  • Develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, sales inputs, and promotional activities.
  • Utilize advanced forecasting techniques and planning tools to predict future demand and minimize forecast errors.
  • Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual demand planning cycles and S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to ensure alignment across functions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to gather relevant input for demand planning, including new product introductions, promotions, and market changes.
  • Work closely with supply chain and production teams to ensure that manufacturing and inventory capacity is aligned with forecasted demand.
  • Provide recommendations for inventory levels and production schedules to optimize service levels and reduce stockouts.
  • Demand Forecasting & Inventory Management:
  • Develop and manage demand forecasts for all product lines to drive procurement and production decisions.
  • Analyze and monitor forecast accuracy and initiate corrective actions for any variances between forecasted and actual demand.
  • Develop and manage inventory targets, ensuring efficient stock levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
  • Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in demand planning to improve forecast accuracy and reduce costs.
  • Lead initiatives to improve cross-functional communication and coordination between demand planning and other teams.
  • Ensure the use of effective software tools and technology for forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant information to generate accurate demand forecasts and reports.
  • Prepare and deliver demand and inventory reports to key stakeholders, including executive leadership and department heads.
  • Present demand forecasts, trends, and potential risks to senior management, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Customer Service & Satisfaction:
  • Ensure that customer service levels are optimized by aligning inventory availability with customer demand.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to order fulfillment, backorders, and stockouts to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with logistics and customer service teams to ensure timely deliveries and meet customer expectations.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and develop the demand planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional development and ensuring the team's performance aligns with organizational goals.
  • Strategic Planning & Forecasting Alignment:
  • Contribute to strategic business planning by aligning demand forecasting with the company's long-term growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior management to integrate demand planning activities into the overall supply chain strategy.

The Successful Applicant
  • Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related field in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in managing and improving demand planning processes and forecast accuracy.
  • Experience with demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various functional teams and senior management.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines while managing competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing demand planning issues.
