Linux System Administrator II - Annapolis

Overview:

Chiron Technology Services, Inc. currently has a System Administrator I career opportunity in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

Clearance: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Capabilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage virtual environments using VMware ESX and VCenter, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation.
• Perform systems administration for hardware and software, supporting the development and testing of advanced information technology systems.
• Administer Linux-based systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers to ensure high availability and security.
• Configure and maintain storage solutions and file systems, such as NFS, EXT3/4, and XFS, to support organizational data needs.
• Develop and maintain scripts in Bash, Shell, Python, and Perl to automate system processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual workloads.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring timely identification and resolution to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Prepare and deliver technical briefings and presentations to senior program management, clearly communicating progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Develop program documentation, including technical reports and operational guides, to support project goals and maintain compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and test new technology systems, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
• Proactively monitor system performance and resource utilization, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Ten (10) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional database engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience in writing scripts (Bash, Shell, Python, Perl)
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, SALT, Puppet is desirable
• Experience with cross-domain solutions or Nifi desirable for some positions

Compensation & Benefits:

• $139K- $149K /year
