Controller

The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the financial department team members
• Develop standard costs for manufacturing processes
• Evaluate inventories and establish reserves for obsolete or slow-moving items
• Analyze production costs and suggest changes when necessary
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports
• Oversee physical inventory processes
• Review and approve month-end journal entries
• Assist in preparing and presenting budget forecasts and monthly reports of budget to actual variances
• Evaluate accounting practices and recommend changes as needed
• Drive continual improvements in controls, processes, and procedures
• Assist with annual financial audits and outside agency audits
• Evaluate credit terms for new and existing customers, approve the terms or make recommendations for approval from the General Manager
• Review and approve bi-weekly payroll processing
• Review Customer Contracts from a Financial and DFAR aspect
• Undertake other projects as requested by the General Manager or VP of Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager role within the manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Month End Close procedures.
• Proven ability to manage and conduct Journal Entries efficiently.
• Experience with Annual Physical Inventory is required.
• Strong skills in Inventory Analysis, with the capacity to make strategic recommendations based on findings.
• Proficiency in Automated Payroll systems, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
