Job Description

The Lead Carpenter/Working Superintendent will be responsible for
  • Lead and manage all on-site carpentry tasks for commercial renovation projects, including framing, installation of millwork, cabinetry, and custom finishes.
  • Ensure that all work adheres to building codes, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the project manager, subcontractors, and design team to coordinate workflow and project timelines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship and safety on-site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction documents to execute precise work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, adhering to OSHA standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve construction issues as they arise, ensuring minimal delays and smooth project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any on-site concerns or questions.
  • Work on both small renovations ($200K+) and large-scale projects up to $10M, which may span 6-12 months.

The Successful Applicant
  • 5+ years in commercial carpentry, with a proven track record of high-quality work on mid to high-end projects.
  • Experience leading a team of other carpenters and managing on-site workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, best practices, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and craftsmanship.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
