Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The Industry Marketing intern will be responsible for providing internal support to all High-Performance Drives (HPD) team members and external support to ABB customers. This will be a highly responsive role, where the specialist will need to respond to needs in a prompt and, timely manner.

Reporting to the Head of Regional Sales, this role will provide business insight to the team. This position requires a self-motivated, free thinker that can identify solutions, create processes, and follow through with weekly and daily activities until the desired outcome is reached.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Industry marketing and business support for the High Performance Drives team, including: Head of Marketing and Business Development, Strategic Sales Managers, Market Segment Managers and Business Development Managers.
  • Monitor and analyze quoting activity by working with engineering and sales support teams. The goal is to track and analyze quoting accuracy, volume, hit rate, and price feedback tracking.
  • Prepare, maintain and disseminate intelligence required of the business unit utilizing PowerBI, SAP, cBOL, SFDC, Industrial Information Resources, etc.- including but not limited to sales performance and trends, segment performance, marketing campaigns (within SFDC), inventory levels and purchases, market intelligence, sales.
  • Continually monitor and assist with fire sale activities related to excess and obsolete inventory. Send out periodic mass-emails to channel partners and OEMs who may be attractive targets for excess inventory
Qualifications for the role
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with an emphasis in marketing or business administration, in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress

The hourly rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications, graduation year and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
