Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial functions including HR, cash management, banking relationships, and year-end tax coordination with external accountants.
- Lead a team managing contracts, change orders, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and long-term goals.
- Collaborate closely with the President and senior leadership to drive business performance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards while continuously seeking process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounting and finance, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Expertise in cash management, HR oversight, and relationship management with external banking and financial partners.
- CPA or similar certification preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, proactive mindset, and a commitment to long-term growth within the company.

The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for the Director of Accounting is an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction finance. The Director of Accounting should have proven leadership skills, with the ability to oversee and develop a team handling contracts, change orders, bookkeeping, and payroll.A deep understanding of cash management, banking relationships, HR processes, and tax coordination is essential. The candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of driving financial strategies that align with the company's growth goals.
A CPA or similar certification is preferred, and the candidate must be comfortable working on site in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
