Willow Valley Communities is looking for LPNs to join our team of Independent Nursing professionals as an Emergency Response LPN. The LPN will provide emergency, short term care to Residents, Team Members, and guests. The LPN will also assist with Wellbeing programs in Independent Living.

  • Starting at $22.50, + based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Explains procedures and treatments to Residents to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved medical directives.
  • Responsible for giving emergency, acute and short term illness nursing care to Residents following established medical directives and Resident Nursing department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of Residents.
  • Observes Residents, records significant conditions and reactions and notifies physician of Residents condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents.
  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal. Takes finger stick blood sugars. Monitors pulse oximetry.
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol. Has current CPR and AED training.
  • Documents medical history and physical assessment for updates and delivers VOL information.
  • Initiates a Resident plan of care according to the individualized needs of the Resident, as prescribed by physician including Resident and family instruction.
  • Functions in a leadership charge nurse role in directing Residents assistants.
  • Responsible to function as a Concierge when coverage is not available.
  • Monitors Residents and works with team to plan and implement changes in status.
  • Participates in department improvement activities, which includes Corporate and department annual goals.
  • Assists with TB, Hep B and Flu vaccine programs.
  • May assist with emergency nursing care in the Supportive Living areas.
  • Assists with providing companion services to Residents within the boundaries of the Willow Valley Companion Service guidelines.
  • Directly supervises one Resident Assistant. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training new Team Members; planning, assigning and directing work during assigned shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a current PA LPN license

Schedules:

  • PT Day Shift, 7:00am-3:30pm
  • PT Evening Shift, 3:00pm-11:30pm
  • Includes every other weekend
  • Includes every other holiday
