Overview:

The Intern will have the opportunity to become part of a collaborative, results-driven Human Resources department and gain exposure to a fast-paced, business environment. Responsibilities will focus on performing a wide variety of tasks in support of the Talent Management & Acquisition, Talent Development, and Benefits teams.

Responsibilities include research, systems management, organizational projects, and other duties related to recruiting, employee onboarding, and benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated student seeking hands-on, professional experience in the Human Resources field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with employee benefits onboarding task as needed including I-9 verification with third party vendor.
  • Prepare Benefits bills for payment as needed.
  • Compile data and materials for the annual 401(k) audit.
  • Support team in administering New Hire Orientation.
  • Create and maintain I-9 files and benefits files and conduct audit of I-9’s and benefit files.
  • Assist with employee benefit and wellness communications.
  • Assist with the coordination of the wellness program, which will include events, competitions and webinars.
  • Assist with compliance related projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with scheduling candidate phone screens, video screens and interviews.
  • Check candidate references and administer background checks.
  • Maintain high level of accuracy while managing candidate information in applicant database.
  • Create employee files.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and billing.
  • Interface with employees, candidates, external clients, staffing agencies and vendors.
  • Support ongoing research projects and company initiatives/events, as requested.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, filing, and administrative tasks.
  • Provide reception desk coverage on a rotating basis.

Qualifications:

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Currently a student at an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Discretion when working with confidential information.
  • Previous office and co-op/internship experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook (calendar management), Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Microsoft Publisher is a plus.
  • Enthusiastic, professional, resourceful and client-service focused.
  • Excellent organizational, research, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Not eligible for course credit.
